Daria is an expert in animal science associated at Department of veterinary medicine and animal production, University of Federico II of Naples (Italy), and is currently a PhD student in Veterinary Science. Her research focus on the application of beneficial microbes and/or their effectors on forage crops in order to evaluate the impact on yield, nutritional value, and effect on animals (using a metabolomic approach). .
Aim of my PhD project is to evaluate the effects of “green” farming systems (organic) based on the application of microbial biostimulants and/or biopesticides. Formulation based on microbials and/or natural compounds to control pest and pathogens, improve crop yield, make plants more resilient to stress and represent a valid alternative to synthetic chemicals. The effects of these technologies are evaluated by the extensive application of metabolomics techniques (LC-MS and GC-MS) and bioinformatic data analysis together with biochemical indices of animal welfare.
